Sinn Féin MLA Aoife Finnegan and Councillor Áine Quinn have welcomed the completion of the new play park in Mullaghbawn, hailing it as a “fantastic investment in local families and children.”
Speaking after visiting the completed site, Councillor Áine Quinn said:
“I’m absolutely delighted to see the Mullaghbawn Play Park now officially completed. This has been a labour of love since the beginning of my time as a councillor, and it’s incredible to see it brought to life.
“I have worked closely with local families, community groups, and council officials to help move this project forward, and the delivery of this brilliant facility is a real testament to what we can achieve together.
“The play park will provide a safe, inclusive, and exciting space for children to enjoy for years to come — right in the heart of our community.”
Councillor Quinn added that plans are in place for an official opening:
“We’re currently finalising the details for an official opening day, and we want it to be a celebration for the whole community. I want to sincerely thank everyone who supported and helped deliver this project — your efforts made it possible.”
Newry Armagh MLA Aoife Finnegan added:
“This is a fantastic investment in our local community and a brilliant example of what can be achieved at a community level with targeted funding and determination.
“I want to commend the work of local residents and pay tribute to my party colleague Áine Quinn for her commitment and leadership in helping deliver this much-needed community resource.
“Sinn Féin will continue working to deliver ral and meaningful change for our communities and people.”
