Nicola Grant Workers Party representative for Newry and Armagh has condemned those who subjected Five Daisy Hill Doctors and their families to racist abuse during an outing to a play park. She said there should be no room within our communities for racism in any circumstances, but to abuse families in a play park is a new low even for right wing racists.
The Workers Party is calling on all those within the Newry and Armagh area to condemn this outrageous attack on these five families and to make it clear that racism has no place in our society and cannot and should not be justified. What makes this case even worse is the fact that these doctors are the ones who care for our families when they need medical treatment.
They are the ones who contribute to keeping our hospitals open. They care for our sick our elderly and our vulnerable patients including our children. Nicola went on to say there are right wing force across Northern Ireland seeking to stir up racial hatred. They attempt to blame migrants and refugees on the failures of our government. Migrants and refugees who have chosen to live in Northern Ireland take nothing from our citizens. They add a richness to our society and are carrying out jobs throughout the public and private sector that is needed. They are not taking, our jobs, or our houses. Nicola finished by saying we need to show racism the red card.
