Newry & Armagh MLA Aoife Finnegan has said that it is crucial that we continue to support our farmers in implementing sustainable practices to meet net-zero targets.’
The Sinn Féin MLA was speaking after attending the recent Ulster Farmers Union Family Day.
The MLA said,
“We had a fantastic day at the Ulster Farmers’ Union’s Farm Family Day, engaging in meaningful discussions with family farmers on issues such as practical strategies to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050”.
The south Armagh MLA continued
“We explored how these targets could be met within the context of a united Ireland and discussed ways to support farmers in ensuring sustainable practices”.
Concluding the MLA said,
“It is crucial that we continue to support our farmers in implementing sustainable practices to meet net-zero targets, ensuring that policies are fair and achievable, and recognising the vital role agriculture plays in our economy and food security”.
