The Republican Party, Saoradh, has announced the details of their 2025 Easter Commemoration in Newry.
Speaking from the party’s Newry office, local Saoradh representative Stephen Murney issued a call to all Republicans: “Join Saoradh An Iúir at our annual Easter commemoration in Newry.
“On Easter Saturday, we will gather to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the struggle for Irish freedom. These brave men and women stood defiantly against British occupation, refusing to yield to the forces of oppression and laid down their lives in the relentless pursuit of an Ireland free from British rule.
“This commemoration is not merely a tribute to our fallen comrades; it is a resolute declaration that the fight for liberation continues. We reject any attempts to dilute or abandon the Republican cause. We remember those who gave their lives and reaffirm our commitment to achieving a truly free and united Ireland.
“We call on all those who hold true to Republican principles to assemble at the Republican plot on Easter Saturday at 12 noon. Let us stand together, paying tribute to those who resisted, fought, and died for Irish freedom. Their courage inspires us, and their sacrifice strengthens our resolve. The struggle endures.”
