Newry City Sinn Féin Councillor Aidan Mather’s has said that a recent incident where a man has been hospitalised after being assaulted by two intruders was an extremely worrying act and had caused great fear and concern.
The Councillor made his comments after the police released details about the aggravated burglary in the Edencrieve area where intruders attacked a male resident.
Councillor Mather’s said,
“This is an extremely worrying incident and it has caused great fear amongst the local community. We send our best wishes to the man injured and we hope he makes a full recovery from the trauma inflicted on him by these thugs”.
The Sinn Féin elected representative added,
“Anyone who may have noticed recent suspicious activity in the area should make it known to the police. These criminals are motivated by greed and care nothing about the damage they inflict”.
