Following a recent visit to Daisy Hill hospital by Stormont’s Health Committee members, Sinn Féin MLA Liz Kimmins has said the hospital is “critical to the delivery of health care to people right across the North”.
The Chair of the Health Committee said,
“It was a privilege to speak with staff working in Daisy Hill where we heard about the fantastic work that is going on in our hospital.
The Health Committee met with staff in Paediatric and Adult theatres, the Ambulatory Unit, the Elective Overnight Stay Centre, and the Acute Care at Home service”.
The Sinn Féin MLA continued,
“Daisy Hill is leading the way in many of these areas of healthcare, and this really demonstrates just how crucial the hospital is not just in delivering for the people living locally, but for people right across the North and indeed the rest of Ireland”.
Concluding the Newry and Armagh MLA said,
“I am determined to ensure we continue to build on the great things happening at Daisy Hill, staff and management have indicated there is so much more they could do with the resources that will help in our efforts to fix our health service and they must be supported to do that.”
