Throngs of colourfully clad Santas gathered on Hill Street on Thursday evening for Newry’s much-loved and eagerly anticipated annual Santa Dash in support of Southern Area Hospice.
Participants from 19 local businesses took part in the festive event, kick starting Newry’s festive season while raising much needed funds and awareness for the Hospice’s palliative care services.
Méabh Austin, Business Development Manager at Southern Area Hospice, said, “We have once again been reminded of the incredible enthusiasm and generosity of our local business community here in Newry.
Fiona Murray, HR Projects Manager at Norbrook also commented “It was great to take part, the Norbrook Santa’s had a lot of fun.”
Over £8,000 was raised through this year’s Santa Dash events- a tremendous contribution towards the vital work of the Hospice. Our heartfelt thanks to Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, our friends at Norbrook Laboratories for kindly sponsoring the event again, and to all the participants and spectators for making it a night to remember.”
Ends.
