Department for the Economy NI Minister Conor Murphy MLA has visited Giggles Early Years childcare provider in Newry.
The Minister said: “I am pleased that Giggles Early Years has become the first early years provider in the north to receive accreditation as a real living wage employer.
“This follows my Department’s recent support for the Living Wage NI franchise which will help deliver on the good jobs aspect of my economic vision. I am committed to the provision of good, affordable childcare which is vital to families, individuals and the economy.
In recognition of this, I also recently announced £740k of skills funding to support the supply of workers into this critically important sector.”
