The Revolutionary Republican Party Saoradh has strongly condemned the Crown Forces for carrying out an early morning raid in Newry on 15th July.
The raid was carried out under the draconian “Terrorism Act” and the Republican on the receiving end is a young member of Saoradh and éistigi, the party’s youth department.
The family home was invaded by numerous members of the PSNI’s Tactical Support Group [TSG] who forced their way into the property before ransacking it and seizing a number of belongings.
During the intrusion several household ornaments were also smashed by Stormont’s military wing.
The activist targeted is part of Saoradh’s PR department and had his camera equipment, lenses and laptops seized along with IRPWA national draw tickets.
Minutes of Saoradh meetings were also taken as “evidence” in what can only be described as a disgraceful attack on this young man and the party.
Disturblingly females in the household were recorded as they got dressed during the raid whilst they tried to question his younger sister who has autism.
Just weeks ago those in perceived positions of power were shouting from the rooftops of a “new beginning” and “changed times”.
However it’s clear that for Republicans nothing has changed.
