Gardaí were alerted to the discovery of a body at the shoreline in Knocknagoran, Omeath, Co, Louth on Saturday afternoon, 8th June 2024.
The body of the deceased, a male in his 50s, has since been removed to Louth County Hospital.
A technical examination of the scene was conducted by the Divisional Scenes of Crime Unit.
Investigations are ongoing.
Foul play is not suspected at this time. Initial enquiries suggest that this is a personal tragedy.
