AIB Launches 2024 €1 Million Fund to Support Local Charities

AIB Group has launched its latest €1 Million Fund to support the charities close to the hearts of our colleagues, customers and communities across the UK and Ireland. Aligned with our sustainability strategy, our ambition in launching the Fund is to have a meaningful impact by supporting our communities.
The fund started in 2022 and to date has supported 150 charities across Northern Ireland, Great Britain and Ireland, with 39 charities located in Northern Ireland and Great Britain benefitting.
We are asking customers, employees and the wider public in Northern Ireland to nominate registered charities that connect with causes that matter most to them.
In the UK the fund will be distributed following an online nomination process, one for customers and one for staff. The UK fund will be split across Northern Ireland and Great Britain. Entries are open from the 8th May 2024 and will close on 12th June 2024.
You can nominate a charity that means the most to you via our website at aibni.co.uk/community
Every nomination counts towards shortlisting!
One of the 2023 awardees was Cruse Bereavement Support. The charity provides bereavement counselling to people across Northern Ireland. The support they provide does not discriminate between religions, ethnic groups, gender or age.
With your nominations, Cruse were able to extend their services by training 20 new bereavement volunteers.
Elaine Brannigan from Cruse said: ‘The death of someone we love is likely to be one of the most distressing experiences we will ever face. Our mission is that we support people through these most painful times– with bereavement support, information and campaigning. Funding is critical to enabling that support for people in Northern Ireland’.
Charities that have received funding cannot receive funding again within a three year time frame.
