Months Before NHS Staff Get Pay Rise

The Department of Health has indicated that they may not have the recently negotiated NHS rise implemented until June. Despite Unions accepting the offer in March it seems the Department may take months as opposed to weeks to give their hard working staff the much needed pay award.

Speaking to Clanrye News and Sport a spokesperson for Department said:

“The Health Minister and Department welcome the decisive outcome of trade union ballots on the pay offer tabled in February.

The Department will now move to implement the offer at the earliest opportunity however a number of steps must be completed including IT system changes.”

The department continued:

“This settlement will restore pay parity with England for all health and social care staff covered by the Agenda for Change framework.

Under this package, HSC Agenda for Change staff will receive a consolidated pay uplift of 5% and a non-consolidated (pro-rata) payment of £1505.

The pay settlement is for the financial year 2023/24 and will be backdated to April 2023.”

“This is likely to be in June.”
