UNISON Encourages Members to Vote Yes on Pay Offer

Statement from UNISON on the recent pay offer.

We are encouraging our members to vote YES to finally see PAY PARITY RESTORED! It has been a long hard fight – and our work is FAR from over – but members deserve to see a reward for all their work in getting us this far!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION for health members on BAND 2 regarding the rise in the legal minimum wage on Band 2 from April 2024.

The uplift in the current restoration of NHS pay parity for NI health staff Band 2 is based on what should have been paid from April 2023. Band 2 rate hourly should have been £11.45 i.e. £1 and 2p more per hour above the 2023 legal minimum of £10.42.

When the UK minimum legal wage rises from April 1st 2024, Band 2 workers in England and NI will start THE NEW PAY YEAR at that level.

This will be a key issue for UNISON in making a new pay claim for 2024/2025. We will INSIST on a pay uplift that brings Band 2 staff above the 2024 legal minimum wage!
