Sinn Féin councillor Valerie Harte has urged anyone with information on a number of burglaries in Newry to bring it forward to the police.
The Newry City councillor spoke after masked men forced their way into two homes on the Ballyholand road and in Mount Pleasant.
Valerie Harte Said:
“It’s believed that two masked men forced their way into homes while the occupants were out.
“I have already spoken to one of the families impacted and will be reaching out to the other family as soon as possible.
“These were disgusting incidents and the families have understandably been left badly shaken.
“Everyone has the right to feel safe in their homes and I would encourage people to be vigilant and look out for their neighbours.
“I would urge anyone with any information on these crimes to bring it forward to the police.”
