The Irish Government Should Offer This Country as the Location of an International Peace Conference on the Israel Palestine War. – Tóibín

Aontú Leader and Meath West TD has called on the Irish Government to offer a location in this country for an International Pease Conference on the Israel Palestine War. An Teachta Tóibín stated:

“Last week, the EU’s 27 national leaders called for an international peace conference, to try and help to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian War. Yet despite the mounting death toll, EU dithering has meant that  there is still no details about a location or a process. I believe that Ireland should take the initiative. Ireland is a small country, but we are an honest broker . We can show leadership given that we have massive experience in terms of conflict resolution. This is needed more now give that the European Union is a sixes and sevens on a unified approach”.

“9,000 people have been killed in Gaza and 1,400 people have been killed in Israel. 200 Israelis remain as hostages. There are reports that a child is being killed every 15 minutes in the Gaza Strip. 46% of hospitals are not functioning for the lack of fuel. Al Quds hospital has been damaged again by a bomb attack today. Only a trickle of aid is getting in to the area and only small amounts of people are getting out. That some western countries are tolerating this is giving a licence for it to happen”.

“Every and all efforts at pushing peace must be tried”.
