If your home is flooded internally due to the heavy rainfall, you can contact Newry, Mourne and Down District Council’s Environmental Health Department and ask about their emergency payments scheme.
A householder could receive a one off payment of £1,000 following an inspection by an Environmental Health Officer.
The £1,000 is an offer of practical assistance to those who have suffered severe inconvenience, to ensure homes are made habitable as quickly as possible.
Contact must be made as soon as possible following the flooding event (and no later than 7 calendar days).
For further information on SEFA please contact our Environmental Health Department on 0330 137 4024 or email: ehealth@nmandd.org
Due to the anticipated volume of referrals it is advised to email in the first instance and a call back service is in place.
