Sinn Féin councillor Aoife Finnegan has said the official opening of the new ‘St Jospeh’s’ school for Crossmaglen marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for local students and young people.
The Slieve Gullion councillor said:
“I was delighted to attend the official opening of the new school building for St. Joseph’s last week.
“It really was heartwarming to see such an incredible facility opened here in Crossmaglen to offer the best learning opportunities to young people from this area.
“With first rate classrooms, fantastic equipment and facilities as well as special sensory spaces and quiet rooms for pupils to use, Crossmaglen now has an exciting, modern and well equipped school which it has long deserved.
“Delivering this new school is a project that Sinn Féin has been involved in for many years, both myself and my predecessor, Terry Hearty worked with Conor Murphy MLA and the wider Sinn Féin team to ensure this project was delivered.
Her party colleague, Conor Murphy MLA added:
“After some visits during the construction phase, it was great to see this incredible new school building officially opened this week.
“Sinn Féin is determined to see investment into our rural communities and to ensure all young people are given the best opportunities to realise their full potential in life with a first class education.”
