A Newry based Tae Kwon Do club is currently preparing for the European TKD Championships this weekend in Lisburn with the successful trophy laden club busy with preparation for another potential trophy haul.
Cathal Fegans Schools of Tae Kwon Do has established itself as one of the most successful clubs in Ireland. The club obtained 2 world champions last year and 17 world champions in total over the past 10 years. The club also has fifteen current Irish champions and 100 champions in the last 10 years.
Speaking to Clanrye News and Sport club owner Cathal Fegan:
“We are absolutely delighted to have 64 participants from our club taking part in the European Tae Kwon Do Championships. It is a testament to all the hard work the fighters have put into their training over the past few months.
I want to take the opportunity to thank the fighters and their families for all their hard work and commitment. We are very proud of each and every one of our students and we know we will take home medals this weekend.”
Cathal has been teaching Tae Kwon Do for many years with clubs in Newry, Silverbridge, Louth Village and Belfast and with summer just around the corner now is the perfect time to enrol your kids or even yourself in one of the most successful Tae Kwon Do clubs in Europe.
