Chair of the Assembly All Party Group on Youth Participation Colin McGrath MLA has welcomed the appointment of Chris Quinn as Children’s Commissioner.
Colin McGrath MLA said:
“Chris Quinn is an outstanding advocate for children and young people. He has been at the heart of challenging political leaders and democratic systems to involve young people in the decision making process for over 15 years and I know that he will be an excellent Children’s Commissioner.
“Children and youth services are facing an unprecedented squeeze as a result of an incredibly challenging budgetary position. But I know that the new Children’s Commissioner will be a strong advocate for the rights of young people throughout his term of office.
“I look forward to continuing to work with Chris in his new role to enhance the engagement and participation of children and young people in public life.”
