Detectives have charged a 26-year-old man with attempted murder following an incident in Newry on Monday, 3rd January.
The man is due to appear before Newry Magistrates’ Court via video link this morning (Wednesday, 5th January).
The charge relates to an incident following a report of a serious assault at the Windsor Manor area of Newry this morning (Monday 3rd January).
One man was taken to hospital for his injuries whilst another man was arrested in relation to the incident.
Barry McAleavey, of Clanrye Avenue, appeared at Newry Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 5th of January in regards to the alleged charge.
As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).
