SDLP leader Colum Eastwood has called for Covid-19 vaccine passports to be introduced for entry into pubs and restaurants in Northern Ireland.
The Foyle MP was speaking after Health Minister Robin Swann warned of continuing pressures on hospitals and healthcare staff.
Mr Eastwood said: “My view is we have to do it, because if we don’t do it, we’re going to be in lockdown again – nobody wants that.”
He told the BBC’s Nolan Live programme: “I think this is the moment for taking tough decisions, and we have a choice.
He has since written to the first and deputy first ministers urging them to introduce Covid passes for hospitality and entertainment venues.
