Craigavon Area Hospital is experiencing significant pressures today (Monday 9th August) with the Southern Trust calling on the public to avoid A&E unless absolutely necessary.
A spokesperson for the Trust said:
“Craigavon Area Hospital ED remains extremely busy today – 102 people in ED (+33 waiting to be admitted to a ward). The rising number of Covid-19 patients in hospital is also adding significantly to bed pressures. Our dedicated staff are working incredibly hard to see everyone but given the high numbers – long waiting times can, unfortunately, be expected.”
