Newry & Armagh MP Mickey Brady has congratulated St Clare’s Abbey Primary School Newry on receiving the nationally recognised Online Safety Mark.
The MP said,
“I congratulate the staff and pupils of St Clare’s Abbey Primary School on their achievement. This prestigious Online Safety Mark which is awarded by the Charity SWGfL recognises only those schools who have demonstrated the very best practice in protecting children online.
The online world has many positives, and it offers great educational and social benefits for children and young people.
However, the rapid development of the online world comes with increasing risks including cyber-bullying, online exploitation, spending too much time online and accessing harmful content.
This achievement by St Clare’s Abbey PS can hopefully act as an example for other schools looking to improve their online safety provision.”
