Slieve Gullion Sinn Féin Councillor Mickey Larkin has called for anyone with information relating to a robbery at the Today Shop in Mullaghbawn recently to contact the PSNI.
“At around 7pm on Tuesday (8th June) evening a man entered the Today Shop and rifled the till. When discovered by a member of staff he produced a large knife and left the premises with a sum of cash. It is believed he escaped in a car parked outside the shop.
This was a terrifying incident for the member of staff present in the Shop. Local shops and their staff have provided a service to residents throughout the pandemic and during the most difficult of times. No business or worker should be subjected to threats or robbery.
I have spoken to the police who are following a number of lines of inquiry. If anyone has any information about this incident I would ask them to bring it forward to the police.”
