Local Alliance councillor, Patrick Brown, is pleased to announce a virtual public meeting, hosted by South Down Alliance, with Party Leader and Justice Minister Naomi Long MLA on Tuesday 27th April at 7pm.
This is an opportunity for all members of the public, including those who are not Alliance party members, to access a forum that will facilitate discussion around issues faced across the constituency and NI-wide with Minister Long.
Councillor Brown, who has recently been selected as Alliance’s representative for the South Down constituency ahead of the next Assembly election, and Councillor McMurray will also be taking part in the meeting, offering a more localised perspective.
Cllr Brown said: “We wanted to open this meeting to everyone, so that local businesses, community groups and residents could be offered a chance to engage with the Minister Long in her role as Party Leader. It is a chance to hear from her directly about the party’s vision moving forward towards the 2022 Assembly election. Additionally, in this time of political uncertainty, it is a pivotal that we all understand the role the Alliance Party can play in Northern Irish politics and why it is more important than ever.”
Cllr Brown continued: “I would encourage as many people as possible to join us for the meeting and to submit questions ahead of time to Minister Long. Anyone wishing to attend and receive a Zoom link should email patrick.brown@southdownalliance.org.
